Sclavos, Orgion 2021

Flag of Greece

Evryviadis Sclavos first planted vines in his native Kefalonia in 1919. With uncultivated lands and olive groves interspersed between the vineyards, for the past 20 years Sclavos have been biodynamically certified with a focus on promoting indigenous grape varieties whilst using minimal intervention in the vineyard and winery. Orgion 2021 is made from 100% Mavrodaphne, a grape not too dissimilar from Syrah. Notes of blackberry, blueberry, raspberry, leather and some cinnamon are present on the nose. The palate is rosy, vinous, with a long finish that reveals aromas of ripe forest fruits and vanilla influences from its one year spent in French oak. A stunning medium-bodied red for those looking to broaden their horizons.
